Bachelor Program

Our department implements a school-based curriculum, coordinating the workplace skills of our graduating students with the developmental needs of the domestic environmental protection industry. In keeping with industry requirements for personnel licensing and accreditation, our program is designed to provide theoretical and practical instruction. Our required courses provide a foundation in the theory and practice of engineering, while our elective courses focus on three categories of expertise: monitoring and analysis of environmental quality, operation and maintenance of environmental engineering, environmental sustainability technology and its application.

 

1. General Education Courses

The courses include Chinese, English, Office Suite Application, Internet Web Source Application, The History and Culture of Taiwan, Applied Writing, Health and Life, Basic Service Learning, Introduction to Chinese Philosophy, Democracy, Legality (Rule of Law) and Life, Medicine and Life, Introduction to Health and Recreation, with a total of 30 credits.

 

2. Required Courses

A minimum of 68 credits are required. The courses include General Chemistry, Experiment of General Chemistry, Introduction of Environmental Protection, Introduction of Green Industry, Calculus, Basic Ecology, General Physics, Environmental Chemistry, Environmental Microbiology, Experiments of Environmental Microbiology, Environmental Ethics, Water Supply Engineering, Soil and Groundwater Pollution Remediation , Experiment of Water Analysis (I), Sewage Engineering, English for Environmental Engineering, Experiment of Soil and Groundwater Analysis, Fluid Mechanics, Solid Waste, Air Pollution, Experiment of Air Pollutant Analysis, Experiment of Solid Waste Analysis, Practical Topics on Environment (I), Noise/Vibration Control and Practice, Planning and Management of Environment, Experiment of Unit Operation in Environmental Engineering (I), Instrumental Analysis Experiment in Environmental Engineering, Practical Topics on Environment (II), Pre-internship Training, Internship, Environmental Protection Regulations and Declaration Implementation, Experiment of Water Analysis(II), and Project Proposals.

 

3. Elective Courses

A minimum of 30 credits are required. The courses may include Environmental Organic Chemistry, Environmental Toxicology, Engineering Statics, Ecological Census of Environment, Sampling Techniques and Sample Preparation, Environmental Impact Assessment, Water Quality Management, Automatic Monitoring and Practices, Indoor Air Quality Management and Practices, Biological Treatment Technology, Pipeline and Electrical Facility for Environ. Eng. (including Practice), Industrial Water and Wastewater Engineering, Wastewater Treatment Plant Operation and Maintenance, Resources Recycling and Recovery, Practical Topics on Environmental Protection Industry, Environmental Education Materials & Teaching Methods, Environmental Management for Industry, Facility Services for Manufacturing Industry, Occupational Safety and Health, Experiment of Unit Operation in Environmental Engineering (II), Case studies of Environmental Pollution, Hazardous Waste Treatment, Sustainable Technology, Ecological Engineering, Environmental Education, Environment and Energy, Environmental Protection and Nanotechnology, etc.
